They have intrigued me for ages. But my general sense that no product of this kind could be all that effective—coupled with a very firm belief that I already own too many things—have kept me from pulling the trigger. Lately, however I’ve been thinking about the small fortune I spend on candles, and—more importantly—how often I flake out by lighting one and then leaving the room without extinguishing it (which, in fairness, doesn’t happen often, but in order to wreak havoc really only needs to happen once). And as it turns out, this is the perfect solution. It’s just like a wee little humidifier, except you pop about 10 drops of your favorite essential oil into the reservoir. It’s an instant slice at heaven at night with lavender to lull you to sleep—plus you don’t have to worry about waking to the sound of firetrucks outside your window. The e-commerce site says they are sold out, but this is a patent lie. Go to the Muji in your town and you will find them. Or, if there’s not a Muju in your town, call a Muji and demand that let you buy one over the phone.
