I would guess that 9 out of 10 of those people on those cards from 1883 have some sort of easily treated general medical condition now — thyroid problems, syphilis, brain tumors.

I have to ditto on the gym idea. It’s the only place men try a cold pick up on me. (Or maybe they would, if I ever went anymore.) I think it’s the sweat, I guess it makes one seem approachable?
