Here I am in San Francisco already, and there’s still so much to share with you guys from LA. I feel like I’ll be laying down bits and pieces here and there, instead of throwing down one big travel log—it’s just turning into that kind of trip. So: taking a few big steps back chronologically, here’s Scandinavian design emporium Huset, which I visited on Monday.

There are two lounge chairs in my living room that look really silly without something sitting between them for people to put their drinks on and such. Nothing seemed ideal until exactly the moment I spied these drum tables.

The Scandinavian look isn’t just about cool angles and clean design: it’s also about wild bursts of color. Huset buys into this way big, and that’s super-all right by me. This Marimekko tray is the happiest possible version of crazy. Plus, it’s melamine. And I do like my melamine.

So many nice trays.

Lisa Bengsston’s wallpaper is doggie-inspired, so of course I’m all in.

Didn’t know I had it in me, but I could show you endless linens from this place.

Love the drum tables and love Marimekko in general. Great share!
San Francisco! So excited to see what you find here so I can go out and shopping-stalk your picks.
But please, in the name of all that is good and holy, do everything in you power to avoid calling the Mission district “The Mish.” Just typing that makes me stabby.
I share your love of melamine. I can’t really explain why, I just know I do.
My favorite LA store! I have that apple tray.
