The fact that I’m possibly the last to know there’s a Muji shop in Jet Blue’s JFK terminal has done nothing to diminish my delight at having discovered its existence. What perfection! Not just from a browsing perspective, but a deeply utilitarian one as well (which of course is the whole Muji thing). It is heaven on earth for the traveler who’s left behind one or two small-but-key items.

I never pack enough socks. They have socks.

And mini-alarm clocks—a useful backup plan if you’re the type who goes right back to sleep after your wakeup call.

Need an extra cami or three? They’ve got that covered as well.

Ever tried to locate just a standard-issue pen in an airport store? I speak from experience when I state that unless you’re willing to settle for something along these lines, you’re pretty much out of luck. But no more!

You’ll be the coolest girl who ever prepared a PowerPoint presentation in her hotel room as you rock out with the help of your new collapsible cardboard speakers.

Very cool! Wonder if they have one of those shops in Honolulu…we have everything else Japanese. You can’t go to a mall or restaurant without seeing everything in English & Kanji. Shouldn’t complain though…they bring in LOTS of tourist Yen!
I am obsessed with MUJI–I must visit it at least once every time I am in NYC. My teens think I am nuts, but I just love to browse the MUJI store! I made some very cool pillows from the map handkerchiefs they sell, and quilted along the lines of the streets for London and NYC…..I will definitely be checking out the airport store next time I am at JFK!!
I heart Muji TO DEATH!! Great find!
I LOVE MUJI! The one I go to is near Madewell and one block over from City Bakery. 5th and 19th. Also the one south of the theatre district. LOVE their clothes. And everything else..
My NYC skyline pen-holder is on my desk holding pens right now! I do love that place.
That Muji store has saved me twice when I needed last minute gifts before leaving NYC. I don’t like buying souvenirs and the things in the Muji store are so much more cool and useful.
Ummm……WOW. Not the last to know, that would be me. I plan on hitting that up next trip to NY.
One of my trip souvenirs from Dublin was a muiji NYC city in a bag – went in to get needed things, mind you. And I love their camis, now that you mention it. Yay!
I will forever mock the travelers who carry their huge neckpillows attached to their carryons.. but one of my all time favorite Muji purchases is an inflatible neck pillow covred in teh softest gray jersey ever and deflates and folds up in a small grey tshirt pouch. i blow that puppy up without abandon my 16 hour flights for business and tuck it away when i am done. i hope they still make them..
