It really shouldn’t be so hard to find a cool laptop case

port.compI could post pictures of  surpassingly cool iPad and iPod covers until the cows come home, but very few people seem to be making laptop cases that even come close to clearing that bar. Why is this? Why must a person settle for boring-but-not-ugly? However! My head just about popped off upon viewing this one by Henrik Vibskov on the site for Portland boutique Table of Contents. The little riot of primary-colored happiness pleases me immeasurably.

This fakey ye-olde case from Book Book is impossibly clever—and also rather attractive.

If  all those pretty, gamine French movie stars in the 60s had carried around laptops, this is what they would have carried them around in.

This is so Yes, I’m a professional, but also deeply, deeply cool.

Check out the Dover Street Market website for the Comme des Garçons ones.

I’m in love with the Book Book one….especially as my MacBook is v.v. old and will crash any instant. What better way to honor a new machine into our home? Thanks for the tip on that one. And it’s not too expensive either. Although such a shame to cover the beautiful MacBook design, no?

Funny you should post this. I was just gushing over the fabulous options available on netaporter.com. They also have super cute smart phone cases if anyone is intrested.

I had suuuuuch a hard time finding a case for my 15.5-inch laptop. Tons of 13-inch options around (ie Macbook-sized), but anything in my size was either freaking vinyl or flower-printed neoprene. I ask you.
Finally found a lovely, LEATHER option at Longchamp. Fuchsia, buttery texture, padded, strong zip, and I always feel chic slipping my computer out of its case at the security checkpoint – which is verily the point, yes?

    Baggu! Plain, cream canvas. Perfect.
