As I have stated in the past, I’m not big on logos. But I’m also a complicated lady, full of quirks and contradictions, one of which is that—despite my stated distaste for logos—I am a total sucker for the Comme Des Garcons Play line and its bewitching little red heart. I haven’t actually ever bought anything, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t gazed at various stripey tees, V-necks and Converse sneakers with great longing and hunger in my eyes. The other day, however, a girlfriend dragged me with her to the Comme de Garcons Chelsea store to get a cardigan for her boyfriend. With a black heart—red would not do—because everyone knows the ones with black hearts are infinitely cooler (I of course did not know). And so now I am obsessed with owning the women’s version of the black heart cardigan. Because yes, it truly is somehow just that much cooler than the red. But mostly because I am a sheep. I leave it to you.

$413 for a wool sweater with an alien head on it? No, you most definitely should not.
I would say “no” as well. Most likely after a few months you’d forget your desire for it, whether you buy it or not.

I know you are focused on the cardi but I say for the price point why not go for the sneaks?http://www.forwardbyelysewalker.com/fw/DisplayProduct.jsp?code=CDES-UZ7&d=Womens
If it must be the cardi then, at the very least hold out for a sale.
You get the all the fun of the emblem without wearing your heart on your chest.
Give yourself a three- day waiting period. Urges like this, in my own experience, usually pass.
i’m obsessed with all things CdG/play x cdg, so i say get it – if you can afford it – i’d have a closet full if i could! i highly recommend the sneakers though – i have them in white and i love them to death, they make me smile every time i put them on…and they’re holding me over until i can afford sweaters & striped shirts.
I am in the Hell, no camp. But a hearty yes for the sneakers.
hmmmm, methinks it is a pass at that price point. If it goes on sale, well thats another story…..
No. Too much to pay for a cardigan, plus it should have black buttons instead of white.
I say, wait 48 hours and then see if you still covet it. Better yet, wait until next Wednesday and get it on sale. (I do like the sneakers. Really cute.)
I only really like the sneakers. The other stuff just seems too much as if they took a generic one and stuck a heart logo on it (yes I know that in theory the sneakers are the same thing, but somehow they seem different).
I have been longing for one of those sweaters with the red heart, and now that I know there’s a black one the desire is that much more painful. But unless I can enlist my brother’s amazing thrift store jujitsu to the cause, I don’t think one will ever be mine, so I want you to buy one so I can live vicariously.
I am like you- no logos- ever… however I too was contemplating the CDG play cardigan a few months ago.. I think its charming and playful without being twee or temporary…
I haven’t splurged yet.. i was looking for a resell on ebay, and then i moved to Paris.. I think it’s worth it..
