My love of “Carrie” is only matched by my love of Julianne Moore. Can’t wait for this…
I definitely vote for the yellow lamp. Didn’t you already mention you like yellow and black together? So do I! I think the red is too much, and the purple kind of a strange color. I love your pillows! And thanks for your blog. I read it every day:)
Absolutely the yellow lamp. Even though it pops, it has a softness to it. (I’m also a big fan of decorating with yellow, black, and white.
I’m conflicted between the yellow and the purple–the purple makes me think of amethysts (sp?–odd, I like red, but tire of it quickly–but small accents are good.
Julianne reminds me more of Sissy Spacek’s Carrie than the mom. I wish the remake portrayed Carrie more as she is in the book. (Just like I wish that James Bond films would be more like how Ian Fleming wrote them. Bond is a womanizer and a drunk but it is seen as a fault, not something to high-five.)
The yellow is great and more unexpected than red. The beauty of your palette is you can change your accent pieces and colors on a whim. Shamrock green would also be pretty. Me thinks you have a better eye for this stuff than you know.
DeerDonna over at blogspot.com has a lovely yellow aesthetic that may inspire you. I am in no way affiliated, just a casual reader of hers.
Conflicted about Carrie. Julianne Moore was also in the Gus van Sant remake of Psycho, which is the only film I’ve walked out on.
I’m initially attracted to the yellow, but because it is a bedroom where you need to sleep, I would choose the purple. I think it will provide the right amount of color without popping too much. Plus it is a little more sophisticated, which is how your bedroom sounds.
