Dear lord, were Patti Hansen and Keith Richards the hottest rock star couple ever or what? I’m asking this as a serious question. Has anyone else even come close?
Also, for those of you looking to take just a demure touch of Keith with you  wherever you may travel, may I suggest one of these  excellently diminutive skull rings?
Um, hi. Those rings are frigging BADASS and I need them in my life. And Keith and Patti? Yes yes yes. I have been wanting to read his bio. Another cool rock couple? Patti (Smith) and Robert (Mapplethorpe). And if you’re looking for two more reasons to curl up with a good book, read their bios Just Kids and Mapplethorpe. Especially his. So freaking fascinating and heartbreaking and interesting and amazing. And a lot of other -ings.

Just saw a fashion photo spread in a recent Vogue covering Patti, Keith, their daughters and grandchildren, hanging out on some private Caribbean island and looking ridiculously gorgeous in ripped French t-shirts and sarongs, and I thought, ‘Wow, a long way from that hot dog joint on Staten Island!’
Well, I’d probably feel differently if I were a Stones fan, which I’m mostly not. (Though, I can see the quality and why others like them.)
But Vogue? Leaves me cold. Somehow everything in it looks lifeless and stultifying. To me, if you’re in Vogue, you must not be interesting. Though I suppose it creates jobs, for connected and very thin people. So, they need jobs too I suppose. Gotta look on the bright side.
I’d say Anita Pallenburg was cooler (and hotter) than Patti. Anita Pallenburg was cooler that all of the Stones put together!
i agree Anita was way cooler than the Stones but not sure she was way cooler than Patti Smith’s voice – either way i think the idea of Keith is more attractive than the reality of Keith!
Not sure if they were cooler but Bryan Ferry and Jerry Hall looked pretty good together.

Also – I would love to find a photo of this awesome ad she Patti did for The Gap back in the 90s. If I remember correctly, she was wearing cut-off jean shorts, a plain white t-shirt & black Chelsea boots.
Was anyone else as surprised as I by the depth of Keith’s book? Just wow. I read Steven Tyler’s in a heartbeat but Keith has such detail and a zillion stories, it’s serious reading.
