The single-topic Tumblr Doodling on Famous Writers—which I first read about here— is precisely what it sounds like: a guy, a collection of black-and-white postcards of famous authors, some spare time, a Sharpie, et voila. The best thing ever would be if somebody made postcards of them—which could never happen in a million years because photo clearance would be hell. And that’s too bad, because they’d be awesome. How better, for instance, to honor one’s post-adolescent move-to-New-York-and-be-the-next-Dorothy-Parker fantasies than with this?
Here’s the saucy Anais Nin.
And a suitably trippy Hunter Thompson.
And course, no doodled-upon set of postcards would be complete without Virginia Wolf.
I’m also quite fond of this one of Norman Mailer. Really, you must go look at them. I love when the internet has little zine-y moments like this one.
