Such lovely news for her. And for anyone who has ever watched The Office and wished for more Kelly Kapoor, more of the time; or has read her very funny—but more than funny, really acutely smart book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?—and thought: somebody needs to bring this lady front and center! The show, which will be on Fox, follows the personal and professional travails of a “Young Bridget Jones-type” gynecologist. And it’s called It’s Messy, which is almost too perfect.
Did you really like her book? I thought it read like a rush-job meant to capitalize on Tina Fey’s (much better) book. It was so bad that I don’t even like watching her on The Office anymore. And I used to love her on that show!
I loved the book. I could’ve read it in a day or two but stretched it out to a week because I didn’t want it to end. I think she’s a lot more relatable than Tina Fey, whom I also love. I could totally see myself being BFFs with Mindy.
Ugh, I didn’t care for either book. They both try too hard to be one of the boys. Tina makes me nuts with her constant use of “like” and “we’re all…”, “he was all…” why can’t she just say what she means?
Don’t know about the book but Mindy Kaling is awesome on the Office. Best episode was the one w/ the Indian Wedding, which I believe she wrote. Classic!
